Is it me? No, it's definitely you.

I should have known there'd be trouble in this new firm from the day after my first interview when the imbeciles in the HR department blocked the offer from the department that really wanted me to work with him. I should have known that being told I was blocked for saying something THAT I DIDN'T ACTUALLY SAY in the interview was a clear sign that I wasn't wanted at that firm, for whatever reason.

Because I'm stubborn and I wanted to rub HR's face in it, I managed to get the job anyway (that's what makes me dangerous....despite the contempt and endless bitching, I am a brilliant legal secretary).

Now, a month in, there are small signs that certain people are still trying to make me leave:

- my secretarial co-ordinator has stopped talking to me. At all.

- my float department leader has taken me off her group email list as well as twice ignored my emails to her requesting confirmation of vacation approval procedures

- the person I'm meant to be working for has been in the office 2 days out of 6 (and given I only work two days a week, that's a lot)

- the other person I work for, when I approached him to say hi and ask for access to his calendar, said 'oh, it'll take a while to set up. I don't really have anything much on my calendar' (well, maybe but I am your SECRETARY and I need to know about that one meeting a week anyway so I can tell people where you are. A week later and he still hasn't given me access. Paranoid? Well, the other part time secretary who works for him has access. Go figure.

- They forgot to pay me last Thursday.

Ok ok I get the hint.
